Tampa Family Portraits: The Corlesses

I love it when I get a "taste" of what's to come later...
Christine and her daughter, Thea, wanted some family portraits taken since Thea turned two years old in August. We planned a trip to a Tampa park so Thea could play and be herself. Because it was a weekday morning, Thea's dad, Ted, was unable to make the photo session.
But this was a great way for me to get to know Thea because in November, her and a few other girls from China are having a reunion.
Well, they're too young to plan it but still, a reunion will occur.
The Corlesses adopted this sweet baby girl in 2009. Through this long adoption process, they bonded with other families who were going through the same thing. In November, three of these families will reunite in Tampa. I cannot wait to photograph all the girls together and shoot family portraits of each new happy family.
Thea is a darling to photograph and most of the time, she's too busy chasing bugs or dragging her stuffed animal around (appropriately named "Bunny") to pay attention to me. I LOVE it when kids are just kids and forget about the lady with the camera.
