Testimonial Tuesdays: Boudoir Portraits with Keri

To say that Keri has "sass" is an understatement.

Keri is funny, sexy, smart and a little crazy all at the same time. She's a photographer's dream.

We chose an unusual spot for her Tampa boudoir portraits because of the decor inside the Ybor Resort and Spa. They have some very unique and colorful rooms and we found a great place for our portraits in a red room with a white brick wall. The manager, Hank, was so accomodating and helpful that I hope to hold a photo session again there soon.

To ensure that Keri looked her best, she hired my favorite event stylist, Holly Nazario from Collective Creations. Holly did a fantastic job on her hair and make up. I can't stress enough how important professional styling is for a session of this nature.

Keri's theme had to be partly "Texas" as she and her husband are from that great state (as my mother and my husband are so I get it). She borrowed a Texas state flag and brought her own cowboy boots and guns. She even bought a temporary tattoo for the photo session with her husband's nickname on it. The response I get when people see this session is "God Bless Texas!"

Boudoir photography scares lots of people. I'm posting these images with testimonials to show people that it doesn't have to be risque and it can be whatever you choose it to be. The best part about these sessions is that it's customized to you. I've never done the same theme twice and I've never had a client tell me that their photos look exactly like someone else's. That's a wonderful thing to hear--I want people to be as sassy or as reserved as they want. As long as my clients are comfortable and the photos look great, I'm happy!

I decided to start this new series called Testimonial Tuesdays so that clients could read what others say about my photo sessions so they have an idea of what it's really like to work with me. I figured my clients can say it better than I can sometimes so I'll let them do most of the talking.

"When I decided on boudoir portraits as an anniversary gift to my husband, I was concerned the experience might be awkward. A few minutes into shooting, however, all my reservations were gone. Tampa photographer Jessica Leigh combined her technical skill as a photographer with her unique personal vision to capture and highlight what made me feel sexy as a woman. Her attitude and aptitude for her craft are empowering. She encouraged me to step outside what I felt were my flaws, and the end result was photographs that I’m not sure who enjoys more – my husband or me!"

-Keri (New Braunfels, Texas)
