Sports Illustrated photographer Bob Martin shot the cover of the latest SI issue featuring female skier Lindsey Vonn. She's posed in a provocative manner according to some critics but to others, she's simply posed as she would be while skiing down a slope. I personally don’t find this offensive because Martin’s work is fantastic and he’s well-respected in the photo community. But I am also not an athlete so for many, this might hit a sore spot. According to this article, only about 4 percent of SI covers feature women. So, when they do have a female on the cover in a suggestive position, it brings out emotion in a lot of people.
